Thinking Outside The Box

We often hear the expression “thinking outside the box”, as in “what we need is some out of the box thinking”. Of course, recognising that there is a box could be the first step to getting outside it!
But what is the box anyway? In life, such somewhat philosophical questions tend to get short shrift – do we want quick, often dramatic help. My own ethics mean that any change has to be both meaningful and sustained. All in all, quite a tall order!
But just imagine that there was a simple, easy-to-use way of helping yourself, one that meant that you, at least, were never stuck. Maybe, if we can draw the box, we can find ways out of it.
What you think? Can we find the ways? And which is the right way?
